The British foreign office minister for the Middle East is in Israel this week for the first time since his appointment. On his first day Alistair Burt visited northern Israel to see the area damaged by a devestating forest fire at the end of last year.
Plucky turtle Zvika suffered a fractured spine and damage to his hind legs, but a group of Israeli vets were on hand to save the day. They have given the creature a set of training wheels to help him move around easily.
Rabbi Arnold Saunders, the Jewish chaplain for the armed forces has recorded a video message for Jewish troops away over the holiday period.
The former Higher Crumpsall and Higher Broughton Synagogue minister was the only Jewish representative to record the message. Other messages included videos from Baroness Warsi, the former Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey and representatives of the Catholic, Muslim, Buddhist and Sikh communities.
