Israel has regained the world record for making the largest bowl of hummus, doubling a Lebanese record less than three months ago.
More than 50 chefs, both Arab and Jewish, from Abu Gosh made 8,800 pounds of hummus, which was three and a half metres across and made in a broadcast dish from the local television station.
The chefs used more than two tons of chickpeas, one and a half tons of sesame paste and hundreds of lemons, garlic cloves and litres of olive oil.
