Following last week's tragic and devastating terrorist attacks in Samaria, I thought I'd compile a list of ways in which people can express love and support for the Fogel family and people of Itamar.
- One Family UK (thanks Mike) are providing financial support for the surviving Fogel family members, including their two orphaned children:
I cannot describe how upset I was upon reading about this, or how utterly gut-wrenching it was to read the BBC's incredibly cold and politicised reporting of it. So I thought I would just post some photos of the family, and a link to a video interview with Udi and Ruth Fogel, and offer my deepest sympathies to their relatives and friends.
If you enjoy Yaakov Kirschen's regular cartoons poking fun at the crazy world of the Middle East, and if you have a Twitter account, then please show your appreciation by following him:
As tempers are getting a little frayed today I thought it was time for a bit of light relief (no not that kind!). So 25 points goes to whoever can tell me which Israeli politician made the following speech about Barack Obama in the Knesset:
"After the exposure of lies from the US, we must say frankly to Obama: You no longer scare us and you can go to hell.
"Obama cannot be trusted. We knew his promises were lies. The time has come to spit in the face of the Americans."
"[We tell him] he is no longer wanted in the Middle East and that he can go to hell."
This is from the superb UN Watch, which fights hypocrisy and prejudice at the United Nations. Please support their cause by clicking on the link at the bottom.
The Middle East is aflame, yet nowhere is human life being trampled with more brutality, more victims, and more secrecy than in Libya. In the past few days, hundreds of peaceful protesters and innocent bystanders were deliberately shot and killed by government snipers and foreign mercenaries.
In the early hours of Sunday a mosque in Haywards Heath, near Horsham in West Sussex, was the target of a suspected arson attack. Three men all aged 19 have been arrested and charged for the offence, and appeared before Crawley Magistrates Court yesterday.
Q: He [Malaysian P.M. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad] has been labeled an anti-Semitic in the Western press due to his vies on Israel. Do you agree?
A: If you speak to Dr. Mahathir, it is clear he has neither the personality nor the inclination to be an anti-Semite. He is a thoughtful, pious and philosophical man.
I want to tell the people of Malaysia not to be scared of being labeled anti-Semitic when criticising the unjust, disgraceful behaviour of the Israel regime.
According to reports in the Jerusalem Post (formerly the Palestine Post, before reality was inverted) Egyptian police stations in the Sinai are being abandoned at an alarming rate as Bedouin gangs seek to gain control of the desert region, launching attacks against Egyptian authorities with small arms and rocket launchers.
Following the shameful behaviour of the SPSC towards Ismail Khaldi I thought this was worth mentioning. Last February, you may recall, Israel's ambassador to the US, Michael Oren, was subjected to similar abuse when he was invited to give a talk at the University of California in Irvine.
While the world's attention is focussed on the turbulent events in Egypt, Jordan and Tunisia, Tehran has dramatically increased the rate at which it is executing dissidents. In January alone 66 pro-democracy activists have been hanged following three minute show trials.
