These people's heroism cannot be celebrated often enough, but page three of today's JC had a familiar ring for anyone who had read this JC feature three years ago: http://www.thejc.com/lifestyle/lifestyle-features/they-bugged-nazis "This week the JC has located...Fritz Lustig, now 93, who for two years spied on (German) POWs from 1943 to the end of the war," says today's JC.

I'm in the kosher pub

Arriving early for some 'telling' (don't ask) at a nearby polling station, I couldn't resist stepping for the first time into Cricklewood's The Castle, which has some claim to be the world's only kosher pub, and which seems pleasant enough as pubs go. I have long wondered what makes a pub kosher. Is a kosher pub one in which it is cheaper to buy the beer wholesale?

Brian Paddick at London Jewish Forum

I thought that Brian Paddick did well at this morning's breakfast meeting organised by the London Jewish Forum, which is organising similar meetings with other major London mayoral candidates. I'm not just saying that he did well because I am a Lib Dem; I honestly thought that it was more interesting than such political meetings (regardless of party) often are.
