I know the risks Jo faced - I've faced them too

By Lee Scott, June 23, 2016

We are all shocked and horrified by the senseless and brutal murder of Jo Cox, the Labour MP for Batley and Spen. Speculation on the motivations behind this attack is pointless. The police will conduct a thorough investigation and in the fullness of time justice will be done. Our thoughts and prayers must be with Jo's children, her husband, family and friends.

Today you make the difference

By Lee Scott, May 6, 2010

Today is your day. The day that you get the Government that you deserve, and I don’t mean that unkindly. That cross in the box also determines who represents you in your area for the next five years.

In Ilford North the voters that I’ve spoken to are clear what and who they want and why. They are tired of Labour and will be voting Conservative.

Last night I met with some concerned people in my constituency who want an end to the anti-social behaviour in their area of Ilford North.

TV debate triggers unexpected support for Lee Scott from rivals

By Lee Scott, May 5, 2010

“I agree with Lee”, not the words of a Conservative voter but the Liberal Democrats’ endorsement of me on BBC1 on Sunday while discussing the leaders’ TV debates of the previous weeks.

It’s not often that the Lib Dems concede to Conservative wisdom, so allow me a moment to enjoy.

You’ll be curious to know what prompted this surprising show of support. Well it’s this.

People watch telly. So it’s not rocket science to acknowledge that putting up those who seek to lead this country on telly, so the electorate can take a longer look, has to be a good thing.

Fighting to save A&E at King George's Hospital

By Lee Scott, April 26, 2010

Hustings dominated the campaign trail in Ilford North last week when I put local services for local people back at the heart of the debate.

It’s a key issue to my constituents who want to know their MP will be working hard to improve the quality of their lives in their locality.

This commitment to act on the concerns of the local people put me in the House of Commons for the first time in 2005 and as my record shows it’s where I’ve kept my focus since.

Working hard for Jewish voters in Ilford

By Lee Scott, April 19, 2010

Jewish voters tell me on the doorsteps of Ilford North that they want a member of parliament who is above all fair, honest and above reproach.

They want an MP who will work tirelessly whatever their constituents’ background or faith without compromising his or her own beliefs.

These are the principles that I campaigned on in 2005 and have upheld since entering the House of Commons for the first time. I will continue to uphold them if I am honoured to be re-elected.
