Beer Sheva ready for Saints test

Barak Bakhar believes Hapoel Beer Sheva have nothing to fear when they travel to Southampton for what is effectively a winner-takes-all match in the Europa League next week.

The teams are deadlocked on seven points going into the final round of matches in Group K, with the Saints sitting in second place on goal difference, five points behind group winners Sparta Prague.

Goldstein relishing Home Nations Test

Russell Goldstein is relishing representing England at the Four Nations tournament in Cardiff, which gets under way today.

Goldstein, 22, is part of a 20-man squad competing in the inaugural competition, alongside Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales at the House of Sport venue.

England kick-off against Scotland before facing Northern Ireland and Wales in the three-day tournament.

Kashket the shining light for Wycombe Wanderers

Scott Kashket propelled Wycombe Wanderers into playoff contention after scoring both goals in the 2-0 win over Hartlepool.

Kashket, 20, scored in each half to earn the Chairboys their fourth consecutive victory in League 2. His goal-scoring efforts earned him a place in the Football League Team of the Week.

Cash-flow issues of concern to Oldham chief Corney

The League 1 club was recently placed under a transfer embargo with debts of more than £300,000, but Corney has told fans not to panic and insists “the debts will be paid”.

The Haroldeans boss has been smarting since their 6-0 hammering at the hands to Reich Insurance Blue.

Two postponements followed which left the Merseysiders frustrated but his players began to make amends by thumping bottom side South Manchester Sports 3rd.

Sassoon late show knocks NLR off top spot

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 2 SCRABBLE FC 2

A dramatic late equaliser from Brandon Sasson saw table-toppers Raiders B drop points for only the second time this season as they drew 2-2 against Scrabble.

Sasson turned the ball home from close-range following excellent work from Zak McLeod to break NLR hearts.
