Peace talks to begin on Tuesday

Peace talks between Israel and Palestine will resume on Tuesday in Washington DC, Israeli Energy and Water Resources Minister Silvan Shalom has said.

Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, responsible for Israel's negotiations with the Palestinians, is expected to participate in the Washington meeting.

Two 18-year-old Orthodox Israelis, Nili Block and Sarah Abraham, have taken world Thai boxing titles.

Ms Block also won first place in her age category in the XIX KickBox World Cup in Hungary, and demonstrated her talent at the 2013 Jerusalem Marathon in the 10K run. She said: “My motto is ‘no pain, no gain.’ I have never wanted to stop.”

Spokesman denies Israel agreed to pre-1967 borders as basis for talks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s spokesperson has denied that Israel is prepared to use the pre-1967 borders and agreed land swaps with the Palestinians as a basis for peace talks.

An Israeli official had earlier stated that if the Palestinians agreed to the formula, the US Secretary of State John Kerry, could relaunch the peace talks which stopped in 2010.
