Danielle’s jump start in Barcelona

Danielle Frenkel, 22, set a new women's high jump record for Israel in its debut at the European Athletics Championship in Barcelona

She cleared the bar at 1.92m in the qualifying round advancing her to the final where she managed to clear only 1.85m followed by three failed attempts at 1.89m, handing victory to Croatia's Blanka Vlasic, reaching 2.03m.

Frenkel remains optimistic and happy with her overall performance, despite not being victorious in the finals and finishing 12th and last place.


Avram Grant: Germany not better than England

West Ham manager Avram Grant is urging England fans to keep faith in the national team following their disappointing World Cup campaign.

After watching England go down 4-1 to Germany, Grant says that the situation really is not as bad as it appears, insisting that English football can still be a major force in the world.

“I have faith in English players,” he said. “I’ve been coming here at least five times a year since I was 20 so I know the English mentality better, in some cases, more than the people here. I see it from the inside and from the outside.
