Rovers face Sporting in the second round of the Peter Morrison Cup on Sunday and Domb is expecting a bruising encounter against Gavin Sharpe’s troops.

MJSL league leaders Haroldeans have won all nine of their league fixtures this season and have raced ten points clear at the summit.

Israel on course for world finals after victory over GB

Israel completed a double over Great Britain in their pursuit of a place in the 2013 Handball World Championship finals.

After winning at Crystal Palace last week, Israel turned on the style in the second game to win 29-20.

The result all but ends Britain’s chances of making the finals and puts Israel in pole position with qualification games against Austria still to come.

Tony Rosenberg was left scratching his head after watching Manchester Maccabi 1st contrive to lose against ten-man Tameside United.

Jonny Quinn scored twice for Maccabi but it wasn’t enough as they slumped to defeat in a game where they hit the woodwork five times.

Gothelf eyes title tilt

Zack Gothelf is adamant his Oakhill side can still catch runaway MJSL league leaders Haroldeans.

The Lions roared to a convincing 4-0 win over Leeds Maccabi 3rd on Sunday and have been in red-hot form in recent weeks.

Oakhill are 13 points behind Haroldeans with a game in hand but still have to face Ivan Gee’s side once again this season.

Bobby Abrams blasted a hat-trick for the Merseysiders, who are now ten points clear at the top of the MJSL following their latest triumph.

Abrams had given Haroldeans a first-half lead before Dan Seligman equalised for the visitors just after the break.

Bor hails Fulda factor

David Bor believes the appointment of new boss Sydney Fulda has given Broughton’s players a new lease of life.

Fulda, who replaced Josh Bor at the helm last week, took charge of Broughton for the first time during Sunday’s agonising 2-1 defeat by South Manchester 2nd.

Two goals in the last 15 minutes gave South the points and condemned Broughton to an eight consecutive league defeat.

Bentwood eyes cup glory

Collins delighted for South's Stewart
