The Mendacity of the Anti-Zionists

By Jonathan Hoffman, April 5, 2010

Tony Greenstein has posted a letter from the BBC and has headlined the post "BBC - Hoffman Lied When Claiming He Was A Victim of Antisemitism"

But if you read the letter from the BBC it says nothing of the sort. All it says is that the BBC changed the story (after its arm was twisted by the anti-Zionists).

The account of how the BBC was leaned on is here:

The story of the original SOAS meeting is here:

The mud is flying and the starting gun has not even been fired

By Jonathan Hoffman, April 3, 2010

Peter Mandelson has had an outrageous potshot at Bob Diamond who is one of the most talented investment bankers on the planet:

Shades of Harriet Harman's idiotic "court of public opinion" comment about Sir Fred Goodwin's pension ...

And Labour MPs talk about "long tentacles of Israel in this country who are funding election campaigns and putting money into the British political system for their own ends" and "right-wing Jewish millionaires" who co-own the Conservative Party.

Pope Benedict the "new Jew"? I think not.

By Jonathan Hoffman, April 3, 2010

Pope Benedict is being accused of covering up child abuse by Catholic priests. The accusations may well be true. In 1980, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, the future pope, allowed a paedophile priest to be transferred from Essen to undergo therapy in Munich, where he was then archbishop.

But his personal preacher has compared the accusations against Benedict to antisemitism suffered by Jews.

"The UK's Disproportionate Response" - as observed by CiFWatch

By Jonathan Hoffman, March 28, 2010

CiFWatch today published a story on Tuesday's expulsion of the Israeli diplomat that relates an incident that took place a number of years ago where Alistair Crooke of Conflicts Forum and formerly of MI6 was sent home under a cloud because of his questionable contacts.

This really demonstrates the duplicity and double standards at play.

Was Moses a war criminal? (by Gerald Steinberg)

By Jonathan Hoffman, March 26, 2010

This year, in reciting the Passover story and Exodus from Egypt, I suggest extending the discussion to include stories that might have been featured in newspapers, blogs, and nightly news broadcasts of 4,000 years ago (give or take a few centuries).

"My particular flawed pedigree and personality"

By Jonathan Hoffman, March 17, 2010

This was how Colonel Desmond Travers - Goldstone Commissioner - at last responded tonight (in a committee room in the UK Parliament) to the question of why he thinks that "British foreign policy is strongly influenced by Jewish lobbyists" (he said it in an interview with Middle East Monitor last month). Mind you, it took several attempts to get him to answer the question, both tonight and at LSE on 8 March:

More Channel 4 Demonisation of Israel on Monday night

By Jonathan Hoffman, March 14, 2010

Dispatches: Children of Gaza

Of course Israel will be blamed for the problems of Gazan children -- and not Hamas.

The clip is horrifying. A boy of perhaps 10 or 11 years old - called Mahmoud - is told by his uncle how wonderful and painless it is to be a suicide bomber. The uncle gets out his Kalashnikov to show the boy. At 2.20 he shows Mahmoud a bullet.

"The bullet gets the Jew in the head" he says.

Vicar of Christ Church suggests Hilary Clinton's criticism of Israel motivated by desire for revenge over Monica Lewinsky

By Jonathan Hoffman, March 14, 2010

What a piece of work this man is

What did Rowan Willams say about Sizer and his ilk when he spoke to the Jewish Community last week?

Or did he just confine himself to sniping at Israel?

Johann Hari's bigoted hatefest in The Independent yesterday

By Jonathan Hoffman, March 13, 2010

Chas Newkey-Burden fisks the latest Hari diatribe.

Notive how Hari twists the words of former Israeli leaders - the trademark of Israel haters everywhere.

Nothing reveals their intellectual dishonesty more than this brazen distortion of the truth.

Vote Eric Lee, to restore objectivity to Amnesty's Israel coverage

By Jonathan Hoffman, February 27, 2010

Over the past eighteen months or so, Amnesty International has been in the vanguard of the delegitimisers and vilifiers of Israel.

Guardian’s flagship blog reeks of antisemitism

The Darkness Closes In On British Academia

By Jonathan Hoffman, February 19, 2010

Professor Geoffrey Alderman (persona non grata at The Guardian, for writing for CiFWatch) spells it out in today's JC. But he doesn't tell the whole sorry story about the descent of British academia into the darkness of bigotry and blind hatred for Israel, for what that country stands for ...... and therefore for Jews.

"Taking The Jack"

By Jonathan Hoffman, February 7, 2010

" .... the JC has spoken to several government sources who have said Mr Straw was “playing dirty” to delay an announcement."

For those who have been asleep for the last four months, this refers to the legal change needed to stop Israelis being vexaciously arrested when they come to England.

You've heard of "Taking the Mick", well this is "Taking the Jack" .... of course getting the meaningless "Alternative Vote" through Parliament is much more important, they've only had 13 years to warm to the idea of PR.

A Terrible Decision

By Jonathan Hoffman, February 3, 2010

Benny Morris has made some robust remarks about Palestinians, because he was worried by the Intifada, as most Israelis were. But the idea that he is "Islamophobic" is absurd. He has taught Jewish and Muslim students alike. He is concerned about terrorism but he is not, repeat not, "Islamophobic".

And I have sat through countless anti-Israel meetings at British Universities, many of which have crossed the boundary into antisemitism.

“Progressive” .... Not

By Jonathan Hoffman, January 31, 2010

Yesterday there was a conference organised by a group called ‘Progressive London”. This was initiated by Ken Livingstone in 2008.
