Double blow for Israel at Euro T20

Israel's ICC European Division 1 Tournament suffered a double blow as they were beaten by Denmark and Jersey in the space of a few hours.

Captained by Herschel Gutman, Israel were restricted to 94-9 from their allotted 20 overs.

Denmark cruised to an eight-wicket victory, reaching their target off 15 overs.

Brave basketball players go down fighting

GB's basketball team found the going tough as they were well-beaten in their first two matches.

A 66-22 defeat against Turkey was followed by a 72-32 loss against Italy.

The team improved as the competition wore on, going down 43-31 against Germany before finishing with a two point reverse against Austria.

Six new teams to join for season 2011/12

Six new teams will be competing in the MSFL next season, as the line up for the 2011-12 campaign is confirmed.

Athletic Finchley, Boca Jewniors and SPEC FC will all compete for the first time, whilst Brady Maccabi and Brixton Old Boys have entered B teams and FC Team a C team, all of whom will compete in the fourth division.

Daran Bern, the MSFL Player of the Season, Redbridge teammate Dan Lee, together with Faithfold’s Paul Babai, Neasden’s George Fierstone and Ben Ellis helped GB bring home gold in the Open Football tournament.

Team GB produced an astonishing record-breaking performance at the 13th European Maccabi Games in Vienna .

The 220-strong delegation won a mammoth 71 medals of which 31 were gold, 23 silver and 17 bronze.

The three-man swimming team of Trevor Pears, Hollie Singer and Naomi Ayrton claimed 19 medals between them.

A 3-1 victory over Germany saw them take silver and finish as the top European side in a three-team event.

Golden girl Hollie Fisher led Britain's charge for glory after making waves in Vienna.
The 13-year-old from Rickmansworth recorded a stunning four gold medal haul after making a mockery of her competition.

Fisher, who is a member of the Hillingdon Swimming Club, picked up nine medals in all as Team GB made a real splash the pool.

GB table tennis boss Dov Katz spoke of his pride at leading the squad to its greatest ever international success.

Katz's table toppers won nine medals - three gold, three silver and three bronze.

Wonderkid Zak Zilesnick was the star of the show. A clean sweep saw the teenager win singles gold, doubles gold and team gold.

Gary Ellis received a commemorative certificate after registering a perfect 300 score in ten pin bowling.

Ellis was GB's top performer at the 2007 European Maccabi Games in Vienna and he recorded the second perfect score of his career and the second at the EMG.

Bridge draws a blank in Vienna

There was heartbreak for GB in the Bridge event as they missed out on a medal.

Captained by Andrew Kaye, GB led the 15-team competition until the last day but, having beaten eventual winners Austria, they had to settle for fifth position and were the only British team to finish without a medal.

In Bernard Teltscher, aged 89, they had the oldest participant at the European Maccabi Games.
