A top-class line-up featuring Dave Lazarus, Sam Levin, 23, and former world No. 69, Matt Crawcour, 41, claimed respective 3-0 victories over Germany, Poland, USA and France.

Sara Lyons was the hat-trick hero as Team GB claimed their first victory of the women’s football competition, thumping Germany 9-1 in Vienna.

Swept aside 7-0 by red-hot favourites USA in their opener yesterday, GB bounced back in style, forging ahead inside the first minutes.

Junior footballers maintain 100 per cent record

Goals from Sam Zerovabeli and Michael Kenley saw Team GB make it two out of two as they edged out hosts Austria in the Junior football in Vienna.

Having won their opening match 2-0 yesterday, GB were quick out of the blocks with Zerovabeli headed home after 15 minutes.

Austria levelled five minutes later after a mix-up in the GB defence.

Pears claims gold treble for Team GB

Trevor Pears added to Team GB's growing medal haul with three golds in the swimming competition on day two of the European Maccabi Games in Vienna.

Taking part in his first European Maccabi Games, Pears, 47, won the 50m fly, 100m freestroke and 200m freestroke.

Goal blitz in European Maccabi Games

Great Britain manager Ben Winston has warned his players not to get carried away after the open football squad started the 13th European Maccabi Games with an 8-3 demolition of Belgium.

The match got off to a terrible start for GB when central defender Michael Sacks was harshly sent off in the first minute after being considreed the last man by the officials.

Second half strikes from Danny Schweiger, who is taking part in his 11th international Maccabi event, and newcomer Jamie Kaye earned GB a hard fought win in their opening match.

Table tennis juniors win first GB gold

Team GB's Junior table tennis took the first gold at the 13th European Maccabi Games in Vienna.

The squad - comprising Zak Zilesnick, Jack Josephs, Ben Raine and Zac Mandel - swept the board, winning their semi-finals and final by 3-0 margins.

Zilesnick got the ball rolling in the semi-final against Austria on Wednesday, beating his opponent, Klein 11-5, 12-10, 11-6.

A half century from the evergreen Martin Schultz inspired a depleted London Maccabi Vale 1s to a 43-run victory over Bharat Olympians in the Middlesex Sunday League Division One.

Playing with only three recognised batsmen, LMV, who were missing record run-scorer Adam Brand showed character and determination to maintain their title hopes.
