Lions B started the season in style, with Benji Weinberger, Ben Winters and Ed Brafman earning them maximum points at Bilbaum.

Perfect sunny weather for the start of the new MGBSFL 16/17 season that saw Lions go to Chase Lodge to play Athletic Bilbaum for their first game in Divison One.

Avi Markiewicz strike on Matchday One was in a league of its own, according to the JC panel of judges.

Althoug the 7-1 win over Real Hendon was easier than expected, the quality of Avi's finish should not be under-estimated.

Picking up possession on the flank 30 yards from goal, he beat his marker and sent a delicious 25-harder arrowing into the top corner.

Bronze for rower Samuel at Rio Paralympics

Moran Samuel earned Israel its first medal of the 2016 Rio Paralympics after claiming bronze in the AS Women's Singles Sculls.

One of Israel's top medal hopes, Moran delivered on Sunday after reaching the final as runner-up in her heat 5:21.36, which saw her qualify for the repechage.
