Gaza man says he was tricked into selling Banksy work for £120

A work by British graffiti artist Banksy was sold for less than £120 after a family from Gaza underestimated its worth.

The mural of a Greek goddess Niobe was painted on a door by Banksy during a visit to Gaza City in February. The image was made to highlight the destruction of buildings and homes in Gaza after Operation Protective Edge last summer.

UKIP candidate for Hendon 'fearful' of British Muslims

Ukip’s new parliamentary candidate for Hendon has denied he is Islamophobic, despite saying he is “fearful” of Britain’s Muslim community.

Raymond Shamash was announced as the party’s candidate for the north-west London constituency on Monday.

His appointment came following Jeremy Zeid’s resignation after he called on the Israeli government to kidnap Barack Obama.

UK-Israel trade hit record high in 2014

Trade between the UK and Israel is at a record high according to the latest figures released by Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics.

Total bilateral trade amounted to £3.9 billion in 2014, an increase of more than 7 per cent from the previous year.

The figures revealed a 4.8 per cent increase in imports to the UK from Israel and a 12.9 per cent increase in exports from the UK to Israel.

Covering Israel is a tough job, says BBC director-general Lord Hall

Director-General of the BBC Lord Hall says the corporation aims to be balanced in its coverage of Israel, but that reporting on the country’s conflict with the Palestinians was “tough”.
