We are told that we are created in God's own image. Then God must be like us, prone to anger, disappointment, vengence. In this sedra we read that this wonderful world that he made, filled with everything that man could desire, yet within ten generations it has all gone sour. How angry and disappointed he must feel. He did what any man would have done. In his anger he says, "I will destroy it". But afterwards, when he realises what he has done, he says, "I'm sorry. I should not have done that. I'll never do it again."
So if you find yourself in that situation, something you worked so hard for has turned out a disaster, and in your anger you want to destroy it, remember what God said to Noah. "I'm sorry. I should not have done that. I'll never do it again". If you can find the strength and the courage to say those words, then you know that you really are created in God's own image.
