Israel's Eurovision entry 2013: Rak Bishvilo by Moran Mazor

Israel will be going for a place in the final of this year's Eurovision Song Contest on Thursday. The competition, which is being held in Malmo, was first held in 1956.

Ms Mazor, who won the first season of an Israeli reality series, is the daughter of immigrants from Georgia to Israel.

She said: "I am proud to represent Israel and I am sure I will bring honour to my country, family and friends."

Matisyahu was in London to perform at Scala in Kings Cross, London. He was promoting his new album, Spark Seeker.

The Harlem Shake is the internet meme sensation that has swept the globe this February. What began in Australia with a group of surfers crazy dancing to 30 seconds of Harlem Shake by dance music producer Baauer, has now been replicated by just about every group imaginable.

Swimming teams, talk shows and a squadron of the Norwegian army have all ignored one of their members boogying on down, that is, until the bass drops.

An estimated 40,000 versions have been made so far and watched over 175 million times. Here is our favourite Jewish themed video, from New York’s Yeshiva University.

Oscar nominated documentary The Gatekeepers, directed by Israeli Dror Moreh, tells the history of Israel through the stories of six former directors of Shin Bet, Israel’s security service.

The six interviewees led the organisation between 1980 and 2011, and they speak candidly about their experiences in office and fears for Israel’s future direction.
