To those reporters who have rung me for comment on the Saville report: I'm not the Stephen Pollard who represents the soldiers who appeared as witnesses.

Two who called me said how surprised they were that I had two jobs, one editing the JC and opining in various places and another as a high profile solicitor. Not half as surprised as me.

Forget all the analysis you've read about Rob Green's fumble. I know the real reason we screwed up on Saturday: it's all Neil Warnock's fault. The man admits it himself:

When Gerrard scored we were still finishing our dinner. And being
superstitious I felt we shouldn't move from the table. We went for the
comfort of the sofa and armchairs, though, and the rest is history.
