GB looking for Equestrian stars to fulfill Maccabiah dream

Lianne Pollak has started a nationwide search to find competitors to represent the first-ever Team GB Equestrian team at a Maccabiah Games.

The GB sports chair is looking for anyone currently riding Grand Prix tests or jumping double clears at Foxhunter or above to take part at the 19th Jewish Olympic in Israel next year.


Nathan names 18-man U18 squad for Maccabiah

Team GB Under 18 Open Football Manager Joel Nathan has named an 18-man squad for the 19th Maccabiah Games in 2013.

Nathan, who led the junior squad to gold at the 2011 European Maccabi Games in Vienna, has opted to balance experience with those who will be appearing in their maiden tournament, after selecting 10 of the players who represented Team GB last year.

Team GB announce Tennis management team for 19th Maccabiah Games

Mark Simons has been appointed Chairman of Team GB Tennis for next year's 19th Maccabiah Games in Israel.

Simons will be assisted by vice-chair Jan Feldman, while technical support and coaching advice will come from Ronnie Maxwell (LTA High Performance Coach), who will also serve as the GB Junior tennis team coach and team manager.


Maccabiah table tennis trial dates announced

Trial dates for Table Tennis at the 2013 Maccabiah Games in Israel have been announced by Maccabi GB, in partnership with UJIA.

The trials will take place at Kulanu in Kenton on Sunday July 15 from 1pm. The day is open to players of all age groups including: Youth (U18), Open and Masters (40+) and for both male and female competitors. Players of all abilities are invited to take part.


Teddy gets Maccabiah opening

The Israeli government has announced that the opening ceremony of the 2013 Maccabiah Games has been switched from Ramat Gan to Jerusalem’s Teddy Stadium.

A new stand, which is currently being built, will increase capacity to 31,000 for next summer’s Games as well as the final of the Euro 2013 under -21 championships.


National Scratch competition details announced

The Association of Jewish Golf Clubs & Societies and Maccabi GB have linked up to host the National Scratch Competition which will take place over two days at The Forest of Arden Golf Resort, starting on September 2.

Maccabi GB has launched a national drive to recruit new talent to what they hope will be the strongest water polo team they have ever sent to the Maccabiah Games.

With both current and ex-international players amongst the line-up, the team is considered to be one of the most exciting prospects for the 19th Maccabiah in Israel next year.


A Little boost for Team GB golfers

The management set-up for the Team GB golf squad competing at next summer’s Maccabiah Games in Israel has been announced.

Led by sports chairman Steve Schindler, professional golfer Sam Little will offer support to the squad which is looking to build on the success of the 2011 European Maccabi Games in Vienna, where Team GB brought home 16 medals, including seven gold.
