Team GB squash boss, Rob Rackind, praised his squash after they swept the board in the squash competition.

A top-class line-up featuring Dave Lazarus, Sam Levine, 23, and former world No. 69, Matt Crawcour, 41, started the week in style with respective 3-0 victories over Germany, Poland, USA and France earning them the Team gold in the Men's Open competition.

Dov Katz is confident that the Team GB table tennis squad will turn on the style at next month's European Maccabi Games.

Team manager to a group of players, including several who are nationally ranked, Katz believes that his troops have what it takes to go all the way in Vienna.

"We are sending arguably the strongest ever GB table tennis squad to a European Games," Katz said.

Maccabi GB's 44-srtrong squad is completing preparations ahead of a trip to Denver for the JCC Maccabi Games.

The delegation features 36 athletes and eight managers. There are high hopes for golfer Marc Brenner, 14, who is currently number two for his age in the county. Brenner is also the youngest junior vice-captain at Abridge Golf & Country Club. The Essex county squad member will become junior captain in October. The squad departs on July 29.

Preparations remain on track for the defence of the European Maccabi Football Trophy after another comfortable victory, this time at the hands of Premiership opposition in the shape of London Maccabi Lions B at Rowley Lane.

Man-of-the-Match Nicky Woolf went one better than his four goals on Sunday with a five goal salvo, perfectly exploiting Lions high back-line in a 9-0 success.

Woolf's first goal came after two minutes after Joel Lassman won the ball out wide and played the in-form striker through to hit home from the tightest of angles.

Maccabi GB have named the management team that will lead Team GB at next summer’s European Maccabi Games in Vienna.

Daniel Collins and Jonathan Green will front the senior team while the juniors will be led by David Jacobs and Brian Green.

Sammy Carr and Rob Richman will manage the Team GB Junior Futsal squad at next year’s European Maccabi Games in Vienna.

The pair helped GB finish fourth last year’s Maccabiah Games, the highest placing of any European team in the competition.

Jason Goldstein will coach the squad.

The GB Maccabiah and European Organising Committee have appointment of Darryl Lee as chairman and Adam Solomons as vice-chairman of both the European and Maccabiah Games GB football teams.

In addition Maccabi GB announced that the pair will hold the same positions for the GB football teams at the Pan American and Australia Games.

Lee and Solomons will be responsible for overseeing the management and coaching of teams for the selected international Maccabi competitions concluding with the 19th Maccabiah Games in Israel in 2013.

Jonathan Kestenbaum, the man who led Team GB to its first Maccabiah Open football medal for almost 50 years, has decided to take a sabbatical from all football duties in the coming season.

Kestenbaum came within seconds of steering GB to gold in Israel two months ago before losing the final on penalties against Argentina. He has also relinquished his duties as manager of the JC MSFL Rep Team.

“It was a difficult decision,” he said. “But for the moment, the right one. I feel extremely fortunate to have had an extended association with Jewish football.”
