Maccabi GB on look-out for Junior girl footballers for 2017 Maccabiah

The search to find players to make up a Junior Girls football team to the 20th Maccabiah Games in 2017 has begun in earnest.

Maccabi GB has taken immediate action to ensure that Great Britain has a stronger chance of competing by holding an open football training session for young, female footballers within the community.


Landesberg to manage Open Football squad at 20th Maccabiah Games

Andy Landesberg will manage the Team GB Open Football squad at the 20th Maccabiah Games next summer in Israel.

Landesberg, who led the Open Futsal side to gold at the European Maccabi Games 2015 in Berlin, is the first manager to be named in the build-up to the 2017 Games, which are also known as the ‘Jewish Olympics’.


Nathan and Horne looking for new stars for Maccabiah 2017

GB players unite in memory of Seltzer

Players from the Maccabi Great Britain team are in action this weekend in an exhibition match against SSE National League 3 side Barking RFC.

The contest is expected to be the first of an annual fixture to commemorate former Maccabi GB player Jonathan ‘Jock’ Seltzer who died of pancreatic cancer in June, 2010, aged 56.


Edwards wins top Maccabiah award

It was a golden summer for track queen Ellie Edwards, and she has managed to maintain her winning formula by scooping the prestigious MVP Award at the 19th Maccabiah Games.

It was the perfect birthday present for Ellie, who turned 17 earlier this week, as she fought off the challenge of thousands of elite Jewish athletes from across the globe to the title of Most Valuable Participant.

A star of the Team GB squad at the last two Maccabiot in Israel, Radley qualifies to play for the Czechs as his grandmother was born in Prague and he meets the IRB player eligibility rules.
