The future of the community's premier golf competition is in danger after a number of clubs snubbed this year's event on the basis that it was exclusively Jewish.

We understand that a row between rival Jewish Societies has been brewing over the subject of exclusivity for several months and the figures speak for themselves.

The 2010 Glancy attracted 18 teams.

Medals galore for Team GB

Team GB produced an astonishing record-breaking performance at the 13th European Maccabi Games in Vienna .

The 220-strong delegation won a mammoth 71 medals of which 31 were gold, 23 silver and 17 bronze.

The three-man swimming team of Trevor Pears, Hollie Singer and Naomi Ayrton claimed 19 medals between them.

Great Britain's golfers claimed their biggest ever medal haul at a European Maccabi Games.

A team consisting of Heidi Rosenfeld, Hayley Freedman, Lori Friedman and Valerie Lemer won the Ladies Inter-Club Foursomes at South Herts Golf Club.

Golfers to get their fair share

The UK's oldest Jewish golf club is pulling back shares from members in order to protect Jewish membership.

Last week Moor Allerton Golf Club in Leeds, a private club opened in 1923, announced in an advertisement that shares from 420 shareholders would be transferred to a special trust, because they were unable to contact them.

But among the shareholders named were a number of prominent Jewish figures, some of whom were widely known to have died.
