Beck swings into Israel squad for Rio Olympics

Israeli golfer Laetitia Beck has qualified for the Olympics after being ranked 42 in the official rankings with the top 60 places guaranteeing a ticket to Rio.

She becomes the 47th member of Israel's record squad, easily surpassing the 43 that competed in Beijing in 2008.


Hartsbourne retain Glancy Cup

Hartsbourne retained their status as the best Jewish golf team in the country after retaining The Glancy Cup after two days of top quality competition.

Dyrham Park County Club hosted what is recognised as the highlight of the golfing calendar run by The Association of Jewish Golf Clubs and Societies.

Rishover honoured by new Hartsbourne appointment

Gaby Rishover said she was honoured to be made Hartsbourne’s first female junior captain.

Rishover took up the sport at eight and has gone on to win tournaments and represent her county.

She said it was a “very special moment” to follow in her father, Jason’s, footsteps at the club. Teddy Vandermolen is the new Junior vice-captain.


National joy for Harris and Lerner

Nicky Harris won the National Scratch Open at Woodhall Spa.

The elite of Jewish golf gathered in Lincolnshire to contest the tournament complemented by the age-restricted Masters tournament.

Both competitions were staged on the world renowned Hotchkins Course and while it was presented in beautiful condition, the test proved severe.


GB Masters golf proud to be part of Jewish history

Team Maccabi GB’s Masters Golf squad brought home seven medals from the 14th European Maccabi Games in Berlin.

The four-man team, made up of Moor Park’s Jeremy Lichtenfeld, Hartsbourne’s Russell Nathan and South Herts duo Steven Hope and Simon Freer producing impressive performances at the Berliner golf Club in Stolper Heide which is approximately 40 minutes west of Berlin.

Just leaving Berlin; a place I was hesitant to visit, with my USA bag enclosing my Grandfather's talis and tfillin. Just two generations before us, our ancestors were fleeing this very place with those same religious articles hidden away in their luggage if they hadn't already been confiscated or burned during Crystalnacht.

The host team ran out victors to collect the Hartsbourne Trophy. They won by a comfortable margin over North West London JGS who received the Abridge Trophy.
