JC MSFL Matchday 20 review

There were joyous scenes in east London as Glenthorne United B became the first team to clinch promotion, while London Maccabi Lions B ended Camden Park's long unbeaten run on Matchday 20 of the JC MSFL season. Elsewhere, there were goals galore in the Premier Division with Hendon A hitting 10 against Harmen to go top and Lions A edging out Neasden A in an 11-goal thriller.

Special Kaye teaches champions a lesson

Defending champions Brady Maccabi A suffered a shock first defeat of the season as they were thumped 4-0 by nearest rivals Glenthorne United A.

A hat-trick from Adam Kaye plus one from Paul Allen gave the Thornes a glimmer of hope as they moved to within six points of top spot in Division One.

North London Raiders completed comeback of the day after beating Scrabble in a five-goal thriller.

Golden girls ready for next level

London Maccabi Lions are looking to build on the success of the GB women's squad by setting up a new football team.

The ambitious Rowley Lane club, which fields 28 teams at men's and junior level, will start hosting monthly training sessions for female players on the club's 3G surface.

The team is being set up by the father-and-daughter team of Geoff Springer and Hollie Geey.

Stanton lifts the Lions

An injury-time winner from Daniel Stanton helped London Lions come from behind to claim a 3-2 victory over Stony Stratford Town in the first division of the Molten Spartan South Midlands League.

Josh Kennet started the comeback with man-of-the-match Andy Glynne putting Lions ahead.

Olim League review: January 14

A goal from star man Lolu Hibbert earned Jerusalem a 2-1 win over Ashdod in the Hamilton Court FX Olim League.

After a stormy weekend and still some uncertainty as to ‘whether’ the game would still be on, the air dried, (the pitch remained very wet), and left spectators with a cold winter night – perfect football conditions for Jerusalemites. It was game on!
