Boss Gold just loving Lions pride

London Lions boss Tony Gold reckons his boys are ready to roar following their opening day success.

After falling behind within the first 45 seconds to London Colney, Lions hit back through Andy Glynne and the returning Dean Nyman.

And Gold, whose team lost out to London Colney twice last season, says he is delighted with his team's start to the new season.

An MJSL XI beat a Manchester Maccabi XI 3-0 in a game played in memory of Darren Rose.

Jack Lee scored twice and Dave Eden added the other for the MJSL team co--managed by Fraser Saville and Neil Collins.

London Maccabi Vale's title hopes took a near terminal blow when they went down to a six wicket defeat to rivals MTSSC in the Middlesex Sunday League Division One.

Vale had batted reasonably well from the start, though they slowed down during the innings to finish with 172 from 40 overs. John Galloway was the highest scoring batsman for Vale, registering 30 before being caught out.
