Redknapp said: "I would like to see England have an English manager. There are not many obvious candidates but we've gone down the foreign route. Sven Goran Eriksson did not exactly set us alight, and if Fabio Capello can't make a success of it, then it's quite frightening really."

Fulham agree terms with Omri Altman

Fulham have agreed terms with Maccabi Tel Aviv for Israel Under 17 captain Omri Altman.

Club spokesman Ofer Ronen Abels told the JC: "We have agreed terms with Fulham for the player to move. If he is not eventually offered a professional contract, then he will return to Maccabi Tel Aviv.


Gershfield double steers Lions into cup final

London Lions produced a performance of pure grit and determination to beat London Colney 2-1 in the semi-final of the Herts Centenary Trophy.

Having been well beaten on two previous league encounters by their hosts, Lions had a real point to prove.

Manager Tony Gold had for the first time in 10 weeks at his disposal a full 16-man squad to choose from and the difference it made was immense.


Close but no cigar for South Manchester
