Leeds Maccabi boss Ian Selwyn was lost for words following his side’s meek exit from the Leeds & District Sunday Cup.

Despite missing six first team regulars, Selwyn expected his side to put up a fierce fight against Batley Irish Nash for a place in the last 16.

Peter Morrison Trophy last 16 draw

Cup holders Manchester Maccabi 1st will travel to North London Raiders B, while there are two massive all-JC MSFL ties including Hendon A against Redbridge A, in a re-run of last seasons' JC Cyril Anekstein Cup final, and Lions A versus Neasden A. The other three northern teams will all travel to London, with Hyde Park Rovers taking on competition outsiders Shirley Park of Division Three.

London calling for Peter Morrison Trophy holders

Peter Morrison Trophy holders Manchester Maccabi 1st will face a tricky trip to the capital after being drawn with North London Raiders B.

Stuart Delmonte and Tony Rosenberg’s men will travel to Brunel for the clash on January 29 to face a Raiders B side, who saw off Faithfold A to clinch their place in the last 16.

Domb delighted with Shirley draw

David Domb is relishing the chance to return to London with his Hyde Park side after they were paired with Shirley Park in the Fourth Round of the Peter Morrison Trophy.

The Leeds-based students moved up to third in the MJSL following Sunday’s 6-2 win over Crumpsall and are starting to find their form after a slow start to the season.

Zack Gothelf hailed the hunger and desire of his Oakhill Lions after they kept their title tilt on track with a gutsy 3-1 win over Republic of Mancunia 1st.

Despite falling behind to a Paul Basger strike, the Lions roared back with goals from Marc Maynard, Saul Shapiro and Marc Woolfe to seal another hard-fought victory.
