The 2012 Henry Swerner Maccabi Masters Cup Final – to be held at Wingate & Finchley FC on April 29 – will be contested between Brady A and Glenthorne A, after their respective semi-final wins over London Maccabi Lions and South Mancs.

Brady beat Lions 3-1 win with goals from Mark Wagman, Laurence Myers and Nick Collins. Laurence Leigh claimed a consolation for the Lions.


Glenthorne's doubles dreams crushed by Neasden

Oli Joseph and Benjy Gourgey were the goal men as Neasden C edged past Division Three champions Glenthorne B to set up a final against UJIA at Wingate & Finchley on April 22.

Top-scorer and joint-player-manager Craig Sandford netted for Glenthorne.

Hendon A edged closer to the title while Lions B beat newly-crowned Division Two champions Hendon B. Elsewhere, Shirley Park clinched promotion from Division Three. Republic of Mancunia 2nd manager Paul Levy paid tribute to his players after they lifted the Mike Samberg Israel seven-a-side trophy.

Levy’s side defeated Hyde Park Rovers 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in the final.
Daniel Klapisch kept his nerve to score the winning penalty, while keeper Dan Caplin was the hero after pulling off a number of stunning saves.

David Smouha was one of the scorers as Wingate & Finchley Under 18s won the AFA Cup following a thrilling 3-2 extra-time victory over Valley Park Rangers.

Smouha, who also had a goal disallowed, capped a brilliant solo effort by sending a rasping drive in off the post to make it 2-0.


Champagne on ice as Hapoel lose

Hapoel Kiryat Shmona missed the chance to clinch their first-ever Ligat Ha’Al title after going down 1-0 at home to Bnei Yehuda.

Victory would have handed Kiryat Shmona the championship, but the surprise defeat, following a 73rd minute effort from Shalev Menashe, still leaves them 16 points clear of Hapoel Tel Aviv, with only six games remaining.
