Maccabi GB’s Community Kick Off (CKO) 2009 will feature two tournaments running simultaneously.

CKO South is being held on 3G at the David Beckham Academy in London. The northern version will be hosted by Oldham Athletic’s Boundary Park.

North West Neasden A 2-3 Baldon Sports

North West Neasden A saw their quadruple hopes ended as they failed to reach their first London FA Sunday Challenge Cup final, going down 3-2 against Baldon Sports in the semis.

The JC MSFL Premier Division leaders twice came from behind with Danny Daggers and Jake Gottlieb putting them on level terms only to succumb to a 70th minute winner.

Joint-manager Jamie Cole said: “We are all bitterly disappointed but at the end of the day, it’s a measure how far we’ve come that we are so gutted after being beaten by Baldon Sports.

Two goals from Max Martin helped JFS reached the final of the Middlesex Brigg 1st XI Cup. They beat Longford School (Feltham) 2-1 after extra-time in the semis.

Derby day delight for Hendon A

Goals from Ari Last, Alex Gilbert and Avidan Last steered Hendon United A to a 3-0 victory over Hendon United B in the fourth round of the Peter Morrison Trophy.

Westdene 1st overcame Montana Boca United A in a penalty shootout. Westdene went ahead in the first minute but Gary Cohen’s strike saw the teams finish 1-1 after 90 minutes. With no further goals in extra time, Raymond Harrod and Cohen had their spot-kicks saved.

Leeds Maccabi eased past the Maccabi Masters 5-0 with Dave Wallman (2), Adam Gilman, Tim Zoltay and Mark Corn steering them home.

Crumpsall and Maccabi ready for final challenge

Crumpsall will meet South Manchester Maccabi 2nd in the final of the Tony Cohen Memorial Trophy.

Crumpsall thumped Westdene Reserves 8-2 courtesy of strikes from Uri Steinberg (2), Yossi Saunders, Zev Landsman, Mark Friedman, Gary Freeman and an own goal. Daniel Rose and Jay Rosenthal replied.

Michael Basger and Jacques Sultan steered Maccabi to a 2-0 success of Republic of Mancunia.

In the league, an Alex Hirshman treble eased Leeds JNF J-Uni 18 points clear at the top of the Joan Collins Premier Division following a 3-1 win at Haroldeans.

Pearson treble sinks Bridge

London Maccabi Lions A moved clear of the danger zone as they beat Redbridge Jewish Care 4-1 in the JC Maccabi League Premier Division. Mike Pearson (3) and Ollie Leslie did the damage. Anthony Mendel replied.

Daryl Phillips (2) led the way as Faithfold A ensured a nervy end of season for London Maccabi Lions B following a 3-1 win. Hadley Silver, who also missed a penalty, netted for Lions.

Three join Faithfold

Football Glenthorne United A, London Maccabi Lions B and South Mancunians joined Faithfold in the semi-finals of the Henry Swerner Maccabi Masters Cup, sponsored by Tux’n’Tails, after claiming victories in the quarters.

Four goals from Sid Shaw helped Glenthorne thump EDRS Stonegrove 6-2. Greg Morris and Jason Levy finished the job. Phil Silver and Mark Kingston replied.

Holders Brady beaten as Faithfold reach last four

Faithfold continued their relentless march towards the latter stages of the Henry Swerner Maccabi Masters League Cup by knocking out holders Brady Maccabi A 3-2.

Having disposed of Lions A in the previous round, they took early control in the last eight clash, forging into a three-goal lead at the interval courtesy of strikes from Robin Kay, Adam Barton and Jason Rich. And despite Marc Herman pulling two goals back for Brady in the second half, Adam Lustigman’s troops held on to become this season’s first confirmed semi-finalists.
