Hapoel Beer Sheva to face Moldovian winners in Champions League

Hapoel Beer Sheva have been drawn against Moldovan champions Sheriff Tiraspol in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.

The Israeli champions will host the Moldovans in the Negev on July 12/13, with the away fixture the following week in Tiraspol.

Silver-lining for Maccabi GB at European Maccabi Football Trophy

Maccabi GB returned from the European Maccabi Football Trophy with silver medals from Open Football and Open Futsal, in a competition where Maccabi France were the dominant force.

Things started badly for GB on the pitch as Daniel Shafron’s team lost 4-1 to France side who are believed to have fielded their Maccabiah squad.

Arvedladza takes charge at Maccabi Tel Aviv

Shota Arvedladza has been appointed as the new manager of Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The Georgian replaces Peter Bosz who recently took charge at Ajax Amsterdam. Arvedladza has reportedly signed a one-year contract worth $1 million.

Maccabi GB squad has unfinished business at EMFT, says Shafron

Daniel Shafron has urged his players to seize the moment ahead of the European Maccabi Football Trophy which get under way in Spain tomorrow.

Maccabi GB suffered a heart-breaking penalty shoot-out defeat against France in the Open Football final in London two years ago and team manager Shafron is confident his squad is equipped to conquer Europe’s finest.
