JC MSFL Matchday 21 review

Brady Maccabi A claimed one of the results of the day after smashing eight past Lions A in the Morrison and there was also joy for Camden Park who saw off Haroldeans and Raiders A who beat FC Team A on penalties. There was also a bumper programme in the JC MSFL as Oakwood A showed great bouncebackability skills and FC Team C hit the perfect 10. Danny Caro reflects on Matchday 21 of the season.

End of the road for heroic Furman

Dean Furman tasted penalty shootout heartbreak at the Africa Cup of Nations as South Africa bowed out in the quarter-finals following an epic against Mali.

One of the stars of the tournament, midfielder Furman, 24, gave another impressive performance in his third competitive game for his country in a game that finished 1-1 after 90 minutes.

Anderson joins Exeter

Blackman joins Reading

Nick Blackman has joined Reading on a £1.2m deal.

The 23-year-old striker, who has a Jewish mother, joined from Sheffield United having recently turned down a similar offer from Crystal Palace.

"I'm really looking forward to it and I'm very excited," said Blackman, who once represented Team GB at the Maccabiah Games in Israel.

The MJSL champions are set to take on MSFL Division One side Camden Park on Sunday in the National Round of the competition.

The Merseysiders arrive in the capital having not played for a month after the bad weather put pay to its recent fixtures.

Crumspall 2nd withdraws from MJSL

Crumpsall 2nd has folded after revealing they could no longer field a team in the Manchester Jewish Soccer League.

MJSL secretary Paul Rose told the JC: "Crumpsall FC advised the MJSL that they could no longer field a second team even though they have over 40 players registered.
