Shirley Park made a barnstorming start to the season, crushing Team JLGB 18-0 in Division Three.

Six goals from summer signing Saul Conway plus four from Nicky Plotnek opened the floodgates. Stefan Benfredj (2), Sacha Benfredj (2), Simon Shelley (2), Adam Redhouse and Dan Mitman completed the rout in one of the most one-sided Maccabi League matches in years.

Much like England, their golden generation has failed to deliver with the Israel FA needing to decide whether or not to dispense with the manager and start all over again.
