Monjack bridges the gap

Sam Monjack is looking forward to another year with Chelsea having had his contract renewed for a further 12 months. He has been with the club since the age of seven and will represent them at under 13 level next season.

“I am very fortunate to play for such a great club and the experience has been amazing,” said the 12-year-old Habs student.

Job done as Team stay up

FC Team player-manager Mitch Young hailed his side as they claimed the point needed to retain Middlesex County League Division One status.

Threatened by relegation all season, Team drew with Wilberforce Wanderers to climb out of the danger zone.

Young said: “This has to be my greatest achievement at the club to date. We were on -3 points up until the beginning of December and had to change the squad around, regroup and now we have survived relegation in our first season at this level.

Stormin Norman takes charge at Wingate

David Norman has been appointed first team manager Wingate and Finchley.

He takes over from caretaker manager Ben Winston who will work alongside the new boss.

Winston commented: “I'm really excited to be working with Dave. I think together we can form an exciting partnership and push Wingate further up the league table. We can't wait to get started. I think he is the man who can move us forward.”

Sam’s the man as Lions thump Leeds

Under 15 National Cup final: London Maccabi Lions 8 Leeds Maccabi 1

The Lions romped home in the Under 15 National Cup final after running out 8-1 winners at Wingate & Finchley.

The Londoners scored twice early on with Yoav Kestenbaum playing in Sam Lewis to fire home.

The impressive Joel Grayson set up goal three with a pinpoint cross headed home by Samuel Marchant.

Inspirational captain Jake Yudelowitz got in on the act with a fantastic shot from 30 yards out that went in off the post.

Pel City thumped Division Two basement boys Clayhall B 10-0 with goals from Perry Somers (3), Andrew Cohen (2), Paul Herszaft, Eddie Saleh, Jonny Firmin, Ray Selman and Spencer Brookner.

Paul Cramer (2) and Arthur Duke earned London Maccabi Lions B finished in third place after a 3-2 win over Temple Fortune B.

Pinner sting the Hornets

Pinner JFC Under 16s came from behind to beat Everett Rovers Red 3-1 in the Watford Friendly League Yellow Division. Ollie Sanker, Alex Trup and Toby Mann saw them home.

Lewis Decker (2), Joel Shaw (2), Miles Freeman and Tamir Lesley eased Pinner Under 15s to a 6-0 success over Watford Youth Sports Red in the Yellow Division in a game dominated by Joe Haftel.

Goals from Jake Colton and Joe Herman were not enough as Pinner Under 12’s lost 3-2 against Alexandra Park West in the WFL Yellow Division. Sam Bard was named man-of-the-match.

HMH heroes

HMH landed the Martin Lane Under 11 Cup after coming from behind to beat Manchester Maccabi at Oldham Athletic’s Boundary Park.

Goals from Daniel Gubbay, Jack Josephs and Joseph Eagell earned the Highgate boys the National Maccabi Trophy, the team’s seventh piece of silverware in four seasons.
