Again, Yossi is last man standing

Footballers come and go. Especially Israeli ones, as far as the Premier League is concerned. Following the news that Premier League champions Manchester City released Gai Assulin, national captain Yossi Benayoun is once again the last man standing as the only Israeli in the division. But even his future remains unclear, with Chelsea demanding an answer from Arsenal over the coming days.


Guttman's Euro vision

Eli Guttman is confident Israel will not be overawed when they take on Euro 2012 finalists the Czech Republic and Germany in friendly matches over the coming days.

Israel take on the Czechs in Austria on Saturday followed by Germany in Leipzig on Thursday as Guttman sizes up his best team for the World Cup 2014 qualifiers, which begin in September.


Oscar goes to Tel Aviv

Maccabi Tel Aviv have appointed Barcelona youth team coach Oscar Garcia as their new manager.

The club’s Canadian owner Mitch Goldhar decided to bring in a foreign manager after three disappointing seasons under Israeli coaches.

The move follows the appointment of Jordi Cruyff as general manager.

Garcia said: “I’m proud to join Maccabi Tel Aviv, a club with an amazing history.


Abrams named MJSL Player of the Season

The Haroldeans hitman took his tally to 24 league goals for the season to earn the MJSL Golden Boot following his heroics against Broughton.
