Leeds ready for the unknown

Ian Selwyn admits his Leeds Maccabi 1st side face a trip into the unknown when they take on Cuedos Rangers in this weekend’s Leeds and District Sunday Jubilee Cup clash.

Cuedos defeated Leeds Maccabi 2nd in the opening round but remain a mystery to Selwyn, who has not watched the Bradford-based side this season.

Bentwood eyes cup glory

Steve Bentwood has set his sights on cup success after his Manchester Maccabi 3rd side suffered their second league defeat of the season.

The reigning champions went down 3-1 at Oakhill on Sunday and are now ten points behind league leaders Haroldeans.

Maccabi’s form has been patchy in recent weeks with their humbling by Crumpsall sending shockwaves through the MJSL.

Collins delighted for South's Stewart

South Manchester 2nd boss Neil Collins paid tribute to Gary Stewart after the goalkeeper returned from an horrific eye injury in Sunday’s win over Broughton.

Stewart came within millimetres of losing his sight after being caught by Haroldeans’ Adam Boyars during last month’s 4-1 defeat against the Merseysiders.

Rosenberg salutes Maccabi heroes

Tony Rosenberg hailed his Manchester Maccabi 1st battlers after they crashed out of the Manchester FA Sunday Cup in heartbreaking fashion.

A goal six minutes from time was enough to give Trafford FC of the Altrincham Sunday League Premier Division a place in the next round and kill off Maccabi’s hopes.
