Jacobson joins Wycombe

Joe Jacobson has signed for Wycombe Wanderers on a two-year deal.

The former Wales under-21 captain was released by Shrewsbury Town at the end of last season following relegation from League One.

Jacobson, 27, enjoyed an excellent season on a personal front - playing 43 matches and scoring four goals, as well as being named Supporters' Player of the Year.

Good draw for Maccabi Tel Aviv

Maccabi Tel-Aviv will face minnows FC Santa Coloma or FC Banants in the second qualifying round of the 2014/15 Champions League.

The Israeli champions will be expected to overcome their Armenian opponents and book their place in the third qualifying round. The first leg is scheduled for July 15/16, with the return taking place on July 22/23.

Marks reflects on South's near miss

Jody Marks expressed disappointment after stepping down as manager of South Manchester Sports Club 1st.

The team looked destined for silverware until an injury crisis left Marks down to the bare bones and they eventually ran out of steam. South finished runners-up in the Manchester Accountants League Premier Division and were defeated in three cup semi-finals.

Maccabi France were crowned European Maccabi Football Trophy champions after beating Team Maccabi GB in a controversial penalty shoot-out to decide the final at Rowley Lane.

The teams were deadlocked at 1-1 at full-time, but with the visitors in a rush to return home, the final went straight to penalties.
