London Lions were made to work extremely hard for their three points on Saturday as Amersham Town pushed them all the way in a 2-1 win.

Playing conditions were treacherous as the wind and rain gathered momentum, but Lions dug deep to eventually claim a hard fought victory.

Faithfold A finished the weekend in top spot as their pursuit of the double gathered momentum following a double-header win over Oakwood.

The London FA Sunday Intermediate Cup winners ran out 3-0 winners in the opener, with goals from Mike Pearson, Daryl Phillips and captain Alex Levack.

North West London Jets under-13s clinched the Excel Academy League title courtesy of a late goal against Hampstead Harriers to snatch the win by 1-0.

Hampstead Harriers began the game on the front foot, dominating possession but were unable to break down the NWLJ defence.

Maccabi Masters review: April 14

The surprise result of the day belonged to Division Two side London Maccabi Lions, who beat Division One champions and cup holders Brady Maccabi A to reach the final of the Henry Swerner Cup.

Marc Morris put Lions ahead after the break, but Brady equalised through Jason Harris' thundering drive in the 90th minute. But the Lions held their nerve to go through 5–4 on penalties.
