A five-goal blast from Adam Shiffman inspired Haroldeans to a 6-1 demolition of FC Cosmos in the MJSL Joan Collins Premier Division.

Bobby Fishel scored the other one for the Merseysiders who enjoyed their best win of the season.

Blake Englander grabbed the consolation for Cosmos.

A last-minute header from Saul Davies earned Maccabi Manchester 2nd victory in the inter-club derby against Maccabi Manchester 3rd in the Joan Collins Premier Division.

Goals either side of half time from Jack Myers and Ben Gould had put the 2nds in charge, but the 3rds hit back through Jason Hamburger and Louis Rawlings.

Maccabi Manchester 2nds overcame a resilient Heaton Park Rovers 3-1 in a tight affair in the MJSL Joan Collins Premier Division.

The hosts had looked comfortable after quick-fire strikes from Dan Margolis and Daniel Rubinstein, but a penalty scored by Jonathan Franks against the run of play brought the visitors back into the game.

Irving Modling says his team showed great spirit to come from behind to win the first piece of silverware of the MJSL season.

An action-packed contest saw Leeds march into a 2-0 lead with strikes from Johnny Goldstone and an own goal.

AFC Flixton Reserves edge past Rovers

Strikes from Daniel Warwick, Jonny Alexander, Greg Louca and Andy Shaffer earned AFC Flixton Reserves a thrilling 4-3 win over fellow title hopefuls Heaton Park Rovers in the opening round of MJSL matches.

Jonathan Franks popped up with a hat-trick for Rovers who battled back well from 4-1 down at the break.

Manchester Vets retain title

Manchester Maccabi claimed the MJSL Veterans Challenge Trophy after blowing away the opposition in rampant fashion.

In a three-team tournament, which also included Leeds Maccabi and Sedgley Park Celtic, Manchester won both its group games before easing to victory in the final.

After defeating both Leeds and Sedgley Park in the round robin, Manchester started the final as favourites.
