Matt Polden put on a five-star show as an emergency forward for Oakhill Lions.

Polden, who has spent the season keeping them out in defence, was utilised at the other end of the pitch as a striker against South Manchester Sports 3rd.

He responded to the call by scoring five goals in Oakhill’s blitz.

Herz, who scored the winning goal in the Tony Cohen cup final last season, has decided a move into management at his boyhood club was too good an opportunity to turn down.

Stevens has given Maccabi a new dimension, says Gellman

Tony Gellman saluted two-goal hero Adam Stevens after firing Manchester Maccabi 1st into the third round of the County Cup.

The Accounts Premier League leaders edged out the Northern Quarter 3-2. Stevens (2) and Grant were on target at Chorlton Sports Club.

Ex-AFC Flixton midfielder Stevens caught the eye with a scissor kick before a long-range thunderbolt sealed the win.
