Domb doubts title talk

David Domb insists his Hyde Park side have not given up hope of landing the MJSL title but concedes they face an almighty challenge to dislodge league leaders Haroldeans.

The Leeds-based students were held to a 1-1 draw by Republic of Mancunia 1st after Mark Clayton atoned for his earlier own-goal with a dramatic equaliser.

Oakhill delight for Daniels

Josh Daniels heaped praise on his Oakhill Lions after they tore Manchester Maccabi 3rd to shreds.

The Manchester students produced a rampant performance with Marc Woolfe, Michael Massarano and Harry Roache on target in the 3-1 win.

Sheldon Lee’s effort for the reigning champions briefly threatened a comeback but Oakhill held on to extend their unbeaten run to six league games.

Frustration for Levy

Republic of Mancunia 2nd boss Paul Levy was left frustrated after his side threw away a two-goal lead to draw with Crumpsall.

Gab Silva and Daniel Klapisch looked to have wrapped up the win to take Republic up to second in the MJSL before they fell apart after the break.

Shaya Halpern’s brace ensured Crumpsall grabbed an unlikely point to extend their unbeaten run to three matches.

Haroldeans boss Ivan Gee says Sporting JLGB’S determination to end his side’s unbeaten start to the season was the motivating factor behind an eighth successive league victory.

Sporting manager Gavin Sharpe had come out with some fighting pre-match talk by claiming his team were ready to put an end to the Merseysiders’ stunning run of form.

Sidney Fulda looks set to take over as the new manager of MJSL basement boys Broughton.

Broughton have lost all seven of their league games this season, scoring a paltry three goals and conceding 37 in the process.

Current manager Josh Bor is poised to relinquish his role to concentrate on playing with Fulda coming in as first-team coach.
