Sporting ready to shock

Sporting JLGB boss Gavin Sharpe has sent runaway league leaders Haroldeans a red-hot warning ahead of this weekend’s clash.

The Sporting boss is adamant his side can become the first in the MJSL to get the better of the Merseysiders this season.

Haroldeans have stormed to the top of the table after winning all seven of their league games but Sharpe is backing his boys to cause an upset.

MJSL league leaders Haroldeans are set to be without a whole host of players for Sunday’s showdown with Sporting JLGB.

Goalkeeper Mike Cross, midfielder Simon Gould and the prolific Jamie Harris have all been ruled out with boss Ivan Gee facing a selection headache.

Crumpsall come back from the dead

Zevi Saunders praised his comeback kings as Crumpsall rose from the dead to claim all three points in an enthralling contest against Leeds Maccabi 3rd.

After producing one of the greatest shocks in recent MJSL history by defeating reigning champions Manchester Maccabi 3rd, Crumpsall were given a rough ride by winless Leeds.

Gavin Sharpe was left to count the cost of several bizarre refereeing decisions as his Sporting JLGB side crashed to defeat in the Harold Feldman Trophy.

Sporting were beaten 2-1 by Republic of Mancunia 1st and finished the game with 10 men after captain Saul Davies was given his marching orders.

Rubens hit a classy hat-trick as Steve Bentwood’s men moved into the last eight of the Feldman Trophy following a comfortable 3-0 win over Broughton.

Zack Gothelf reckons he’s got Oakhill Lions ready to roar up the MJSL league table following their second win of the campaign.

Lions extended their unbeaten run to five games after seeing off Republic of Mancunia 2nd 2-1 with Jonny Davies and Simon Finkelstein on target.

Ullmann stunned by Leeds defeat

Alex Ullmann was left dumbfounded after watching his Leeds Maccabi 3rd side snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Winless Leeds led Crumpsall 2-0 and 3-1 thanks to two goals from Dan Davidson and Ollie Abrahamson’s solo effort before eventually going down 5-3.

But a second half collapse allowed Crumpsall to roar back and Ullmann was at a loss to explain his team’s capitulation.
