Harold Feldman Trophy round-up: November 20

Oakhill continued their quest for an unprecedented third successive Harold Feldman Trophy after crushing Leeds Maccabi 3rd 7-1.

The Lions, who have now won five games on the spin, booked their place in the semi-finals with a rampant second-half display.

Rob Selwyn scored a hat-trick, with Benji Las, Josh Daniels, Marc Woolfe and Harry Roache also on target.

Gothelf wants cup treble

Zack Gothelf has urged his Oakhill Lions to make history and become the first side in MJSL history to win the Harold Feldman Trophy three years in a row.

Oakhill moved up to second in the league table following last weekend’s 6-3 thrashing of Broughton and have lost just once all season.

Jackson quits Rovers for South

Hyde Park captain Adam Jackson has quit the Leeds side to sign for South Manchester Sports Club.

The highly-rated defender made his South debut as a 70th minute substitute during the 5-3 Peter Morrison Trophy win over Leeds Maccabi 2nd.

Jackson, who has played for South and Manchester Maccabi in the past, had been one of Hyde Park’s most important players in recent months.

Haroldeans get rude awakening

Fraser Saville believes Haroldeans have been given a real wake up call after they crashed to their first defeat of the season and were dumped out of the Peter Morrison Trophy.

The Merseysiders, who have won nine out of nine in the MJSL and are nine points clear at the summit, were trounced 5-0 by Leeds Maccabi 1st in Yorkshire.

Adam Gilman made a dream return to action after an injury-ravaged year by heading Leeds Maccabi 1st into the last 16 of the Peter Morrison Trophy.

The popular midfielder suffered a nightmare knee injury during last year’s quarter-final clash against eventual winners Manchester Maccabi.

Northern football round-up: November 13

Peter Morrison Cup holders Manchester Maccabi 1st eased into the National Round following a comfortable victory over Republic of Mancunia 1st.

An own-goal and a second half double from substitute Jay McGarvey ensured Maccabi’s place in the next round.

Republic’s day went from bad to worse when Anthony Jacobs was shown a second yellow card for dissent.

Sporting boss Gavin Sharpe loves the fact his side has been labelled as the ‘Stoke City’ of the MJSL and says his players are ready to kick Hyde Park’s Peter Morrison Cup hopes in to touch.

Rovers manager David Domb has likened Sporting’s style of play to that of Tony Pulis’ Stoke ahead of the weekend’s clash at Frederick Road.
