Leeds Maccabi 1st goalkeeper Mark Miller has been named as the JC Northern Team of the Week Star Man.

Miller made several crucial saves during his side’s impressive 2-1 win over league leaders New Ireland Wood in the Leeds Sunday Alliance Premier Division.

Saunders salutes Crumpsall

Zevi Saunders hailed Crumpsall’s performance as their ‘best of the season’ following a shock 5-2 win over South Manchester SC 2nd in the Shonn Trophy.

Crumpsall are well known as the ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ of the MJSL, but they were always in control in a wind-affected clash with South.

Dan Rose scored twice, while Ben Silverman, Ben Kayser and Frenchie Freedman rounded off the win.

Haroldeans boss Gee: Title is ours to lose

Haroldeans boss Ivan Gee says the MJSL title is his side’s to lose after they crushed title challengers Oakhill 4-0 to move nine points clear.

Jamie Harris scored twice, while Bobby Abrams and Cabral Christian were also on target as second place Oakhill were blown away.

And Gee says his side’s latest display shows they are determined to finish off the title race with a minimum of fuss.

Ivan Gee’s men are now nine points clear of the Lions with eight games remaining as they inflicted a second defeat of the season in the Manchester students.

Peter Roberts, the Referees Development Manager at the Manchester FA, recently attended a meeting with the MJSL council to discuss further innovations going into the scheme.

Domb states his case for the defence

Hyde Park boss David Domb has warned his players they must cut out their defensive errors following an almighty scare against Leeds Maccabi 3rd.

Domb's men led 4-0 before 10 minutes of madness allowed Maccabi to score three times without reply.

Rovers hit back with Oli Grant completing his hat-trick to seal the win 6-3, but Domb was far from happy.
