Holders North London Raiders moved into the semi-finals of the Cyril Anekstein Cup after seeing off 10-man Harmen in the first round of games of 2016, while there was also an important programme in the MGBSFL.

The quarter-finals of Cyril Anekstein Cup take centre stage this weekend as MGBSFL players return following a two-week winter break.

There are two stand-out ties as North London Raiders A host Harmen while Hendon United Sports Club A plays Redbridge Jewish Care A. I can see home advantage holding the key, while the other two matches are easier to predict.

NLR boss Rob Richman praised the youngster, describing the strike as "a goal that was befitting the quality on show as he effortlessly half volleyed over Corin who had previously looked unbeatable".
