Goldberg: I’m staying with Fortune

By Danny Caro, July 26, 2012

Michael Goldberg is keen to put an end to speculation over his JC MSFL future after committing himself to Temple Fortune.

The attacking midfield is on the shopping list of several Maccabi League teams, and when he played in recent friendlies for Boca Jewniors, there were fears in the Fortune camp that he could be set to depart.

Londoners, prepare to be amazed

By Danny Caro, July 26, 2012

So, the greatest show on earth officially gets under way on Friday. I hope you are ready?

I was in Jerusalem on Maccabiah duty the day London was named as the 2012 Olympic host city and although there has been plenty of negative coverage in the build-up, from what I’ve seen so far, it looks set to be a roaring success. Even the sun is shining.

Chigwell Athletic unveil new signings

By Danny Caro, July 25, 2012

Chigwell Athletic this week made a big statement of intent with the announcement of three new signings.

Joining recent acquisition Richard Baum are Brad Gayer, Pierce Prince and Dean Ben Yosef.

Midfielder Gayer, 18, the former Charlton academy player, was snapped up from east London rivals Woodford Wanderers.

Ever-improving Boca Jewniors denied late on

July 19, 2012

Boca are ever improving and nearly walked away with the win Wednesday night against a strong Faithfold C outfit.

Having beaten a joint-Norstar team three days earlier, Boca went into the game on a high. Two goals from Michael Goldberg, described by one Boca insider as 'the Jewish Messi', put them in a strong position, only for a last-gasp 30-yard to break their hearts.

By Danny Caro, July 19, 2012

New-look Boca thrash joint Norstar team

July 16, 2012

Boca Jewniors have been hard at work since the close of last season, with a pre-season season already underway in early June.

The club have strengthened massively and obtained many quality players. They have shown intent by winning their first competitive friendly against Division Four rivals and new boys Norstar C, with help from their Norstar B team to give them a boost.

We must soldier on, says Wolff

By Danny Caro, July 13, 2012

David Wolff expressed disappointment after confirming that the JC MSFL will feature 46 teams for season 2012/13, down two from the previous campaign.

The league has also dropped one division to leave the Premier with 10 teams and 12 in each of the other three divisions.

Five new sides, including Tottenham Chutzpah and Loughton Orient, have joined.

Passion still runs deep for continuation of Maccabi League

By Danny Caro, July 13, 2012

Don’t panic. That is the overriding message from JC MSFL chairman David Wolff after confirming the world’s biggest Jewish league will start season 2012/13 with 46 teams.

We have seen a gradual decline in numbers in recent years, with the lure of the Premiership, Masters football, five-a-side, work and family commitments the biggest factors.
