The Premier Division strugglers join South Manx and Montana Boca United B after they admitted defeated in their bid to see the season through.

Lions B won the Division One title in season 2003/04. But they have yo-yo’d between the top two divisions in recent seasons although their problems this season have proved beyond repair.

By Danny Caro, January 11, 2011

They huffed and they puffed - but Real Life still could not chalk up a first league win of the season in a ding dong battle against Zig Zag in the mud at Edgwarebury.

In many ways they WEre indebted to goalkeeper Will Martyn who pulled off three world-class saves - twice in the first half and once in the second - that meant the spoils were shared. And they'll be thankful for the contribution of Rob Greene who popped up with two quality goals in the second half.

Hendon United A left it late as five goals in the final 15 minutes booked their place in the next round of the JC Cyril Anekstein Cup.

The Premier League side - up against Chigwell United A, their fellow high flyers from Division 1 - ultimately proved too strong as they cut swathes through the Essex side’s defence, aided by the brilliant Greg Corin, who made use of his free role by popping up anywhere and everywhere.

BRADY MACCABI vs CAMDEN PARK
Brady Maccabi are one of the teams of the moment and I don’t expect Camden to cause them too many problems on Sunday in one of several cup ties held over from last year.

Josh Rosenfeld’s men have fired 23 goals in their last four games with Josh Hershman, Mark Smith and Steven Field bang in form. Field goes into the game in buoyant mood having bagged the JC Player of the Week award.

Pearson can take Faithfold to another level

By Danny Caro, December 16, 2010

Zuriel Solomon, the Faithfold A manager, believes that the signing of former Maccabi League Player of the Year Mike Pearson will boost the team's challenge for silverware.

The Superhoops beat several other Premier Division rivals to the star striker who fired a debut goal in the 2-1 win over North West Neasden B. David Lederman claimed the other.

Solomon said: "Pearson was a real handful and gives us a different dimension. He looked great in green and white."

Danny Daggers pulled one back for Neasden but Faithfold held firm to climb to third in the table.

Montana United B have become the Maccabi League's second team to fold this season.

Managed by Nick Goodmaker, Montana had failed to win their last five league matches in Division Two.

A statement from the club read: "It is not a decision that myself and chairman Raymond Harrod have taken lightly. We have sought a solution for a number of weeks now and after fielding a side of only nine players a few weeks back have decided there is no other alternative.
