In possibly the most intriguing and exciting finish to the Maccabi Masters League Division 1, Brady A moved ominously into the top two after a battling 2-1 win over Southgate Harmen, who will now feel that their title hopes are all but over.

Nick Collins scored both Brady goals, with Alex Bourne replying for Harmen.

Donne names 21 to defend Maccabiah gold

Team GB has named a 21-man Over-45’s football squad for the 19th Maccabiah Games.

GB manager Brian Donne has called-up a number of Maccabiah newcomers in his side. However, those who are returning to Israel this summer have a wealth of experience between them as they attempt to defend the gold medals they brought home from the 2009 Games.

This season's Herny Swerner MMFL Cup final will be contested between London Maccabi Lions and North London Raiders, as Raiders secured their place with an emphatic 6-0 win over South Mancunians.

A hat-trick from former Montana Boca United striker Gary Cohen, plus one apiece from Ashley Davidson, Serge Cowan and Paul Herszaft booked Raiders' place in the final at Wingate & Finchley on May 12.


Maccabi Masters review: April 14

The surprise result of the day belonged to Division Two side London Maccabi Lions, who beat Division One champions and cup holders Brady Maccabi A to reach the final of the Henry Swerner Cup.

Marc Morris put Lions ahead after the break, but Brady equalised through Jason Harris' thundering drive in the 90th minute. But the Lions held their nerve to go through 5–4 on penalties.

Glenthorne United B progressed to the semi-finals of the Nathan Horwitz MMFL Division 2 Cup after beating St John's Wood Tigers on penalties.

Neither team could find the net in normal time and Glenthorne held their nerve to win the shoot-out 3-0 to set up a last four clash against Marshside.
