Strikes from Tony Plaskow, Wayne Davidson and an own goal edged North London Raiders to a first Masters League title following a 3-3 draw against second-place Southgate Harmen.

The point keeps NLR three points ahead of Harmen, with a game in hand. Harmen's goals came through Paul Stein, Lloyd Becker (pen) and an own goal following a long-throw from Andy Hearn.

Four goals from Kevin Lotzoff boosted North London Raiders' title hopes as they demolished Scrabble 11–0 at The Hive.

Tony Plaistow chipped in with a hat-trick as NLR kicked off the new year with a clear signal of their intentions.

Further strikes from Wayne Davidson (2), Paul Katz and Gary Cohen helped L'Orange open a three points lead, with a game in hand.


Old Boys win Fortune Celebration Trophy

Temple Fortune Old Boys won the Celebration Football Tournament at Princes Park in a competition to commemorate 45 years of existence.

Held at Princes Park – the club’s birth-place - MGBSFL chairman David Wolff presented the engraved medals to all the participants, followed by presenting the Jack Kyte Challenge Cup to Andy Montlake, the victorious Old Boys 'skipper'.


Lazarus leads rusty Lions home

Lions returned to action after a month with no football and, despite being far from their fluent best, did enough to overcome a tough and energetic Latymer side thanks to a solitary goal from skipper Brad Lazarus.


Maccabi Masters review: December 15

Brady Maccabi A continued their improvement with a 4-3 victory over Waldaf Town in Division One of the Maccabi Masters League.

Two goals from Mark Wagman, a penalty from Gideon Barnett and an own goal clinched the points.

The top three teams claimed convincing wins in Division Two, with leaders Glenthorne United A putting five past Hendon Harriers without reply.

Brady Maccabi A recorded only their second win of the season as they saw off the challenge from title hopefuls Southgate Harmen.

An overhead kick from Nick Collins and Dan Levy’s winner earned them a 2-1 victory. Alex Bourne replied for Harmen in what was was a niggly, petulant affair with five cautions, four of them coming for a poorly behaved Southgate side.

Brady B put up a dogged resistance to deny table-topping Glenthorne United A their seventh straight win in a rare goalless draw, but Glenthorne remain in pole position, despite dropping their first point of the season.

St John’s Wood Tigers romped to a 7-0 win over Hendon Harriers, with goals from Ashley Davidson (3), Grant Morgan (2), Jonny Mansoor and Simon Barr.

North London Raiders took over at the top of the Maccabi Masters League Division 1 table as overcame former league champions Brady Maccabi A to win 5-3.

Two goals from Gary Cohen plus one apiece from, Tony Plaskow, Kevin Lotzof and Marc Posner cemented the points in their fifth win of the season.

David Rose, Dan Levy and Scott Ansher replied for Brady.
