Team GB missed out on a medal in the over-45 Football competition at the Pan American Maccabi Games after losing a penalty shoot-out against America.

Having lost 2-1 to America in the round-robin phase, GB matched their opponents with a goal from Laurence Beck ensuring the match would be settled on spot-kicks.


London Lions Vets finish year in style

Lions rounded off their fixtures for 2015 with victory in the Invitational Cup over neighbours Hadley.

The game was effectively secured in the opening 20 minutes, as Lions started strongly and, this time, were able to put the finishing touches to some of their early chances.

Ben Simons opened the scoring in the first half against his former club, finally beating inspired Faithfold goalkeeper Danny Caro.

It must be said that Faithfold goal led a charmed life at times, with Chigs top-scorer Adam Stolerman denied by the woodwork no less than four times.
