Faithfold secured their first points of the Maccabi Masters League season with an impressive 3-0 win over South Mancs A in Division One. Strikes from Russell Rich, Gary Good and Jonny Mack lifted the Superhoops to second in the table.

Brady gleeful after beating rivals

Brady Maccabi came from behind to thump arch rivals Glenthorne United A 4-1 in Division One. Greg Morris put the Thornes on top but Brady rallied with goals from Mark Wagman (2), David Sawyer and Scott Ansher.

South Mancs A recorded their first win, beating North London Raiders 2-0 with strikes from Gavin Sherman and Paul Rodin.

There was double delight for South Mancs as the B team despatched Clayhall 5-1 courtesy of Richard Smith, Paul Herszaft (2), Oren Wolf and Marc Schneiderman. Mark Goldman scored Clayhall's consolation.

Maccabi Masters round-up

The goal deluge continued in the Maccabi Masters League with 33 being notched up in six games.

In Division 1, and despite going behind to a Greg Morris goal, Brady A won the early season title indicator 4-1 over arch rivals Glenthorne A, thanks to a brace from Mark Wagman and goals from David Sawyer and Scott Ansher.

Meanwhile South Mancs A recorded their first win, beating North London Raiders 2-0 with strikes from Gavin Sherman and Paul Rodin.

Brady starts title defence with thumping victory

There were goals galore as the Maccabi Masters League kicked off its season.

Defending champions Brady Maccabi A set out their stall with a 7-1 victory over new boys Hendon Harriers. Fara Moghim put the Harriers ahead but goals from Scott Ansher (2), Mark Wagman (2), David Rose, Neil Kochane and Jonathan Cohen saw Brady home.

Glenthorne United A beat South Mancs A 6-3 with debutant Laurence Swerner notching a pair. Richard Goldstein, Jon Bolle, Dave Michaels and Greg Morris chipped in with the others. Mark Powell (2) and Mark Klinger replied for Mancs.

Maccabi Masters kicks off

The Maccabi Masters League gets under way on Sunday with 351 players already registered and 15 teams ready to kick off.

Brady Maccabi look like the team to beat again. Having clinched the league and cup double last season, Daniel Collins' men start as strong favourites as one of six teams making up Division One. Glenthorne United A, North London Raiders, South Manx A, Faithfold and the newly-formed Hendon Harriers complete the over-35 division.

Brady Maccabi close in on the playoffs

Brady Maccabi A are just one game away from a title playoff with Glenthorne A after they demolished London Maccabi Lions A 8-0 in the Maccabi Masters League Division One. Mark Wagman (3), Scott Ansher (2), Jonny Cohen, Jon Feldman and David Rose were the marksmen.

Faithfold, who are also the opponents in the Henry Swerner Cup final at Wingate on Sunday evening, lie between Brady and a title decider.

Brady and Faithfold reach cup final

This year's Maccabi Masters League Henry Swerner Cup will be contested by Brady Maccabi A and Faithfold who came through their respective semi-finals.

Brady kept alive their double hopes after edging out North London Raiders 3-2 courtesy of a brace from Mark Wagman and a penalty from Nick Collins. Spencer Steinberg and Paul Herszaft struck for the Raiders.

Faithfold booked their place in the May 16 final after bypassing newly-crowned Division Two champions EDRS Stonegrove 5-2.

Glenthorne United close to title

Glenthorne United A moved a step closer to the Division One title after beating Faithfold 3-1 with goals from Dave Michaels, Sid Shaw and Adam Lennard.

North London Raiders and South Mancunians drew 2-2. Dean Schulberg and Ashley Davidson struck for Raiders. Darren Coon and Lee Young replied.

Newly crowned Division Two champions EDRS Stonegrove ended their league campaign unbeaten with a 6-2 victory over Temple Fortune. Tony Platman (2) Roger Levitt, Adam Kern, Steve Krieger, Jacob Namer and were the scorers.
