Maccabi Masters review

EDRS Stonegrove warmed-up for the Masters Division Two cup final with a 5-3 victory over London Maccabi Lions.

In a dress rehearsal for the final to be played in three weeks, strikes from Martin Seifert (3), Malcolm Joseph and an own goal saw EDRS home.

Marc Morris (2) and Andrew Landesberg replied for Lions.

Brady on course for the double

Scott Ansher and Mark Wagman fired Brady Maccabi A into the final of this year's Henry Swerner MMFL Cup.

Double-chasing Brady will face either Faithfold or Hendon Harriers at Barnet's Underhill Stadium on May 15 after beating South Mancs A 2-0 in their semi-final clash.

In Division Two, league leaders Glenthorne United B came from three goals down to clinch a 4-4 draw with South Mancs B.

There was an intriguing father-and-son contest in the Henry Swerner MMFL Cup quarter-final involving Faithfold and Norstar. Stuart Lustigman, who at 66 is the oldest player in the league, was up against eldest son, Adam. Goals from Paul Gold, Mitch Klein, Jason Levy, Joel Nathan, Jason Rich, Jonny Mack and Paul Chilton helped Faithfold come from behind to triumph 7-2.

Four goals from James Temple eased South Mancs A into the semi-finals of the Henry Swerner MMFL Cup as they thumped Temple Fortune 7-1.

Adam Bradley (2) and Mark Powell completed the rout. Graham Meyer fired a consolation for Fortune.

Three goals from Mark Wagman plus one apiece from Max Radford, Laurence Myers, Paul Shamplina and Jonathan Cohen completed the rout.

JOEL NATHAN fired Faithfold into the quarter-finals of the Henry Swerner Maccabi Masters Football League Cup.

Nathan struck a deadly double and Russell Rich added a third as Faithfold eased to a 3-0 win at Brady Maccabi B.

North London Raiders triumphed 4-3 on penalties following a goalless draw against Division One rivals Glenthorne United A. Kevin Lotzof, Ashley Davison, Danny Goldman and Jonny Summerfield converted for Raiders.

Marc Morris and David Price fired London Maccabi Lions into the last eight of the competition with a comfortable 2-0 win at South Mancs B.

Wagman wounds Glenthorne

Division One leaders Brady Maccabi A moved a step closer towards retaining the Division One title with a 7-0 demolition of third-placed Glenthorne United A.

A hat-trick from Mark Wagman (3), plus further strikes from Scott Ansher (2), Laurence Beck and player-manager Daniel Collins completed the rout.

The victory leaves North London Raiders as the only challengers for the title. They kept their slim hopes alive with a 4-0 win over Hendon Harriers, courtesy of Lee Levenson, Dean Schulberg, Jon Yantin and Ashley Davidson.
