North London Raiders’ Division One title hopes were dealt a hammer blow when they suffered a 4-3 defeat against cup finalists Glenthorne United A. Jason Levy (3) and Sid Shaw did the damage. Kevin Lotzof (2) and Neville Roach replied for Raiders.

Division Two champions Clayhall Park Casuals A lost for the second consecutive week, going down 3-1 against Pel City. Perry Somers (2) and Ashley Marks netted for City with a Brian Deal penalty proving no more than scant consolation.

Clayhall hungover

Division Two champions Clayhall A suffered their first defeat of the season after losing 2-1 against Glenthorne B. Neil Sapler put Clayhall ahead but strikes from Gary Swerner and a 30-yard free kick from Alan Lee saw Glenthorne home.

Stablemates Clayhall B also lost, 4-2 to Ashlodge for whom Jon Lauffer, John Seigal, Steve Bogen and guest Phil Silver were on the mark. Paul Chilton and Jacob Namer replied.

Glenthorne set up LML final date

Glenthorne United A and London Maccabi Lions B will contest the Henry Swerner MMFL Cup final after recording 3-1 victories in their respective semi-finals.

Glenthorne beat Faithfold courtesy of strikes from Jason Levy, Adam Lennard and Dave Michaels. Russell Rich grabbed Faithfold’s consolation.

Arthur Duke (2) and Howard Freeman earned Lions victory over South Mancunians for whom David Hyman was on target.

Goals from Jason Sears (2), David Rose and Marc Herman sent Brady Maccabi A top of the Maccabi Masters Division One table after beating Temple Fortune A 4-1.

Brady close in on title

Brady Maccabi sent out a title warning to long-time leaders North London Raiders after thumping Faithfold 9-0. Nick Collins (2), Scott Ansher (2), Laurence Beck, Laurence Myers, Marc Lee, Marc Herman and Mark Abrahams all scored to take Brady to within a point of Raiders, with a game in hand.

London Maccabi Lions A hammered South Manx 7-2 with Danny Reuben (3), Adam Lee (2), Warren Leader and Phil Lewis scoring. Nick Roman and Nick Tromans replied for Mancs.

Comeback kings Raiders continue to lead the way

Leaders North London Raiders remain top of Maccabi Masters Football League Division One following their 5-3 win over EDRS Stonegrove. Despite being behind for much of the game to goals from Phil Silver (2) and Malcolm Joseph, Raiders hit back with goals from Ashley Davidson (2), Kevin Lotzof, Daniel Mendoza and Dean Schulberg.

London Maccabi Lions A put themselves firmly in the Maccabi Masters League Division One title race picture with a 3-2 win over South Manx, with goals from Adam Lee (2) and Nathan Kosky. Nick Roman (pen) and Eric Elbaz scored for South Mancs.

Three join Faithfold

Football Glenthorne United A, London Maccabi Lions B and South Mancunians joined Faithfold in the semi-finals of the Henry Swerner Maccabi Masters Cup, sponsored by Tux’n’Tails, after claiming victories in the quarters.

Four goals from Sid Shaw helped Glenthorne thump EDRS Stonegrove 6-2. Greg Morris and Jason Levy finished the job. Phil Silver and Mark Kingston replied.

The Maccabi Masters Division One title race was thrown wide open after lowly Temple Fortune A earned a surprise point against league leaders North London Raiders A.

Moroccan striker Yali Mamouri put Fortune ahead. Ashley Davidson levelled before Dean Ingram restored Fortune’s advantage. Raiders’ Ilan Cohen made it 2-2 as the Raiders edged two points clear.

Brand puts Lions into Vets final

Goals from Adam Brand and Warren Leader put London Maccabi Lions Masters into the London FA Vets Cup Sunday section final after they beat Charlton Rangers 2-1.

The visitors forged ahead after 18 minutes when the influential Leader fired a free-kick through the wall and into the net.

Charlton, who had hit the bar twice, equalised 20 minutes from time following a mix-up in the Lions defence.
