LML U12's win in Brussels

The London Maccabi Lions under-12 B-squad sent two teams to a tournament in Brussels organised and hosted by Maccabi Brussels.

Before the knock-out stages, one of the Lions teams was drawn in the group of death and achieved a very creditable fifth place out of 10 overall in the tournament via the play-offs.

Dynamic duo to lead GB U16 Futsal at EMG

Laurence Myers and Scott Warren will again spearhead the Team Maccabi GB U16 Futsal squad for the European Maccabi Games 2015 in Berlin.

The pair led the same side to the silver medal in July 2013 at the 19th Maccabiah Games and will be looking to earn the top prize this time around.

Andrew Saipe has been appointed as Maccabi GB’s Chair of Combat Sports.

The seasoned Martial Arts veteran will oversee Team Maccabi GB’s Judo and Karate teams for the European Maccabi Games 2015 in Berlin and he will also act as Manager for the latter.

Brian Green will be Junior Team Manager chair, while Abbi and Neil Taylor Junior Team managers.

Berlin to host 2015 EMG

Berlin have been announced as the hosts of the 2015 European Maccabi Games.

The first time Germany has hosted the Games, the opening ceremony is set to take place in the city’s Olympic stadium, the scene of the 1936 Olympic Games used by Adolf Hitler for Nazi-propaganda.

Maccabiah Games will be tougher, says Kyte

David Kyte believes Team GB can build on their success from the European Maccabi Games at the 2013 Maccabiah Games.

Kyte, the head of the GB delegation in Vienna, led a 240-man team that brought home 78 medals including 32 gold.

Brave basketball players go down fighting

GB's basketball team found the going tough as they were well-beaten in their first two matches.

A 66-22 defeat against Turkey was followed by a 72-32 loss against Italy.

The team improved as the competition wore on, going down 43-31 against Germany before finishing with a two point reverse against Austria.
