Israel completed back-to-back victories at the ICC European Under 19 Division 2 Tournament in the Isle of Man.

Play started late at King William's College on Sunday, but it was the only game not to see a reduction in overs.

Israel well beaten at ICC Euro U19

Israel made a disappointing start at the ICC European Under 19 Division 2 Tournament in the Isle of Man.

They went down by 130 runs against a France team who were dismissed for 185 in 46 overs.

Coached by national team captain Herschel Gutman, Israel conceded 49 runs in extra in an innings where wickets were shared around, with three bowlers taking two apiece


Salford and South Manchester reach NJCL T20 final

Salford will play South Manchester in the NJCL Twenty:20 9-a-side finals after the teams came through their semi-finals in contrasting fashion.

Salford were given an almighty scare by a young Maccabi Lions side, fielding seven players under 16.



Allstars dazzle South

South Manchester were crushed by 197 runs against league leaders Ashton Allstars crushed in the Greater Manchester Amateur League.

Steven Glicher's troops faced an uphill struggle from the start as Ashton racked up the runs with one of their batsmen registering a century.

Ashton recorded a total of 262-8, with David Cohen, Josh Eady and Akiva Lieberman each taking two wickets.


Manchester Maccabi thumped Olympic-style

Manchester Maccabi fell to an 180-run defeat against Olympic in the Great Manchester Amateur League.

Two wickets from Steven Allweis plus a catch and a run out from captain Ray Tammam was about as good as it got for Maccabi as Olympic amassed 316-6.

Maccabi's reply featured some gritty knocks, most notably from Marc Williams (32), Wayne Doyle (18) and teenager Rafi Dines (18).


MAL edged out by Stanmore

MAL went down by 22 runs in a friendly against Stanmore.

Stanmore won the toss and elected to bat on a glorious sunny day. Opening bowlers Yoav Lebens and Anthony Cowan were both excellent and unlucky in an opening spell which saw them wicketless, but keep the scoring rate down, though Stanmore's overseas player, Tom Cullen, was looking to hit strongly through mid-wicket and extra cover.

Israel finish Euro T20 on a high

Israel finished 11th at the European Division One T20 Tournament in the Channel Islands.

Having lost their five group matches, Herschel Gutman's men were beaten in the 9th-12 playoff, going down by 86 runs against Gibraltar – a low-scoring affair in which Gutman took 3-15.

However, Gutman led by example in the final encounter as Israel beat Croatia by 86 runs Les Quennevais.


Feigenbaum and Wienburg steer BECC to third win

Belmont & Edgware registered their third consecutive Middlesex Sunday League victory, winning a relatively low-scoring contest against Haryom at JFS.

The top-of-the-table clash was played on a sweltering hot day, and Warren Averbuch's men went into it knowing only a victory would see them close the gap at the top.
