South Manchester edged past Salford to retain the NJCL T20 title in a close fought encounter.

Salford won the toss and elected to bat in damp conditions but tight bowling from brothers Akiva and Huddy Lieberman kept the scoring down. In fact Salford only managed 11 runs off the first five overs as the bowlers were on top.


MAL 2nd edged out by Crouch End

Michael Klinger, on his first outing as captain for MAL 2nd, lost the toss and was asked to field by the opposition captain Felix Middleton, who according to the reporter is no relation to Kate.

Title within touching distance for MAL

The destiny of this season's Middlesex Sunday League Division Two title lies in the hands of MAL after they claimed a nail-biting 11-run victory over title rivals SKLP in Northolt on Sunday.

MAL battled to a hard-fought victory despite persistent light rain for most of the day with the odd heavy shower. The game went ahead and even finished under sunny skies.


Maccabi pass Olympic challenge

An excellent all-round display from captain Ray Tammam helped Manchester Maccabi clinch their third victory of the campaign with a six-wicket success over Olympic.

Beaten by the same team seven days ago, Tamman's troops fought hard to stay in the game as Olympic moved to 110-4 at the midway point of the innings.


Gordon set for a major landmark

So this coming Saturday will mark a major landmark: The South African medium-pace bowler of the 1930s, Norman Gordon, will celebrate his 100th birthday.

Evans rewarded as Israel finish fifth

Josh Evans was named Most Valuable Player in the tournament as Israel finished a credible fifth at the ICC European Under 19 Division 2 event in the Isle of Man.

Israel finished the competition strongly, beating Spain by 180 runs in the fifth place play-off

Having won the toss, Spain invited Israel to bat first in what were initially damp and foggy conditions.
