London Maccabi Vale 2nd XI continued their excellent run of form with a six-wicket victory over Woodford Green.

With neither captain having a coin to hand, the toss was completed using a Tesco clubcard. Skipper for the day Leders Snr call "barcode" correctly and decided to ask WG to bat first.

Belmont & Edgware suffered a 10-wicket defeat in a friendly match against North Harrow.

In bright, sunny conditions, a 10-man Belmont and Edgware opted to bat first on the slow, uneven Old Lyonians wicket. Openers Blasebalk and Mayer applied themselves well against some skilful new ball bowling and after five overs the score had reached a steady, if unspectacular 10.


Bowlers put MAL in a spin

Spin twins Simon Cohen and Grant Reingold inspired London Maccabi Vale to a 39-run victory over MAL in Division One of the Middlesex Sunday League.

Earlier, Danny Caro hit an unbeaten 93 off 106-balls as LMV posted 196-3.


Brilliant Brickman inspires LMV 2nds

A superb spell of bowling from Josh Brickman inspired London Maccabi Vale 2nd to a three-wicket win over Highgate Irregulars in a friendly match.

On a wicket and outfield that could have benefited from an extra mow, Vale skipper Nigel Rothband won the toss and offered Highgate first use of the facilities.

IDL turns into a two-horse race

Half way through the domestic Israel Day League season, the Division One title race is turning into a two-team show, with Sri Lanka Tel Aviv maintaining their perfect start to the season with victory over Ra'anana on Friday, whilst Lions Lod remain in touching distance in second place after a big win over Lod Rangers on Saturday.
